Our Local Community

There are lots of ways in which Church without Walls is involved in the local community, in fact, in many ways the distinction of church stuff/community stuff is not one that really fits with our ethos.

To be authentically ‘church’, a Christian community in this place, is to be involved in the community, part of making it a better place for everyone to live in. So there are many community initiatives that Ruth, our Community Minister, is involved in, many community ventures where people from Church without Walls are taking  a lead.

Summer Fun Event 2014

Some run under a ‘Church without Walls’ banner, others don’t! We hope to be like yeast in the community, being the extra ingredient that helps things happen, working with our neighbours to make this community and our world a better place to live in.

Making bunting for ‘The Big Lunch’

Some of the things coming up that we are directly involved in are:

Knit, Natter & Sew: a new weekly group for anyone who likes to make things. Every Monday from 10 to 11.30am at The Broughton Pub.2015-01-12 10.49.44

Soup & Sandwich: A fortnightly chance to meet your neighbours, enjoy some good home-made soup and relax in a kid free space!
