What is the Big Lunch?
The aim of the Big Lunch is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. The first Big Lunch in Broughton & Brooklands was organised by Church without Walls 6 years ago but it now organised by Broughton & Brooklands Community Connectors. This is a brilliant community event so why not come and be part of YOUR Big Lunch!
What shall I bring?
Please bring some food to put on the table to share, a picnic blanket or chairs, something to drink and a reusable plate & fork and be ready to have some fun! You can bring your favourite local food whether it is from Yorkshire or India, sweet or savoury! Or maybe you have no time to cook? Then just pick up a bunch of grapes or whatever you fancy from the supermarket.
What happens? You can put your parents in the stocks or join the Circus Skills workshop? If you are feeling active there will be Zumba for young and old or you can just enjoy the food and relax chatting to friends. At the end of the afternoon don’t forget to join in the tug-of-war – who will win this year, the men or the women?
