One of our values as a Christian Community is to be giving generously. In 2017 we supported two charities; MSF and MKSnap. I am delighted to say that we raised a total of £2,300.
In 2018, once again, we will be supporting two charities: one home and one overseas. Our two charities this year are Willen Hospice and New Hope Rural Community Trust. Throughout the year we will be running a whole range of events to support our two charities from Pancake Parties to Barn Dance. Come along and get involved!
Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers. Their vision is to be the lasting and thriving provider of free care to all people affected by life limiting illness in our community.
New Hope Rural Community Trust
New Hope India is a grass roots Christian charity that works in Orissa (south eastern India) with the poorest and most deprived in the community. It was started by Elizar Rose, who grew up himself in a Leprosy Colony in India. New Hope now works with all those excluded from mainstream society: HIV+ orphans, aged leprosy persons, those with disabilities and the tribal groups in the region. They have an open door policy to accept whoever comes in need.
To help get our fundraising going we have two charity ambassadors each year. I am delighted to say that our Charity Ambassadors for 2018 are: Madeline Harbey & Lynsey Lindsey BUT they will need all of you to get involved with ideas and practical fundraising. Get in touch and get involved!
